More About the Pemaquid Oyster Festival
Each year on the last Sunday in September, the Pemaquid Oyster Festival celebrates the working waterfront, marine conservation, and the famous Pemaquid oyster. These shellfish are found in the deepest holes of the Damariscotta River and are one of the most beloved delicacies in the region. Just last year alone, more than 10,000 of these oysters were served to festival attendees.
Along with a bountiful oyster feast, visitors of the 2017 Pemaquid Oyster Festival will enjoy a wide variety of activities. The best part is that proceeds collected at the event support the Edward A. Myers Marine Conservation Fund. With music all day long, boat rides aboard the River Tripper, educational exhibits, and thousands of oysters straight from the river, festival attendees are sure to be entertained all day long!
The 2017 Pemaquid Oyster Festival takes place right on the banks of the Damariscotta River at Schooner Landing Restaurant and Marina. Be sure to mark your calendars and make your reservations with The Russell House Bed & Breakfast for this one-of-a-kind event!
